Recently, the vertical short drama 'Heartfelt Confessions, The Campus Heartthrob Can't Hide It Anymore,' jointly produced by Jiangnan Film and Television Arts Vocational College and Wuxi Fengfan Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., officially began filming. This short drama is another innovative measure by Jiangnan Film and Television to deepen industry-education integration, accurately meet industry demands, and empower students' growth. It is a vivid practice of school-enterprise collaboration exploring new paradigms of vertical short drama storytelling and new pathways for cultivating short drama talent.
The launch ceremony was held at the School of Film and Television Media. Bi Shun, director of the Film and Television Directing Teaching and Research Office, introduced that this short drama project is a practical implementation of the school's teaching philosophy of 'aligning majors with industry and courses with positions.' The project team, composed of professional teachers from the Film and Television Directing and Photography Teaching and Research Offices and 28 students, is structured strictly according to the formal positions of a professional film crew. It is divided into seven major functional sections: directing, production, cinematography, lighting, sound, post-production, and costume, makeup, and props. Each participating student has a clearly defined role, participating in the entire process from shooting to production.
Tao Jianhua, the head of Wuxi Fengfan Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., is a 2019 graduate of Jiangyin Film School. In 2020, he founded Wuxi Fengfan Film Company and, as a producer, led the company's strategy and content planning, overseeing the entire process of projects including films, web mini-series, commercial films, and brand planning. He has successfully produced multiple films and popular web mini-series. As the producer and screenwriter of this mini-series, he stated that cooperating with his alma mater Jiangyin Film School to create vertical screen mini-series not only allows junior students to truly move from 'classroom simulations' to 'on-the-job practice,' but also helps the industry cultivate new talent with practical experience.
