The School of Film and Television Media is a key characteristic school under construction at Jiangnan Vocational College of Film and Television Arts. Leveraging the abundant film and television cultural resources and prominent industrial advantages of the Yangtze River Delta, the school keeps pace with the latest developments in the media industry and is committed to nurturing interdisciplinary and application-oriented professionals in the film, television and media fields. For years, it has cultivated and delivered a large number of outstanding talents to the film and television production, media arts and digital media industries across Jiangsu Province and the whole nation.

Founded as the Department of Production and Broadcasting in 1993, the school was officially restructured into the School of Film and Television Media in 2002. After more than three decades of development, it has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction, talent cultivation and social services. Currently, the school offers five core majors, namely Film and Television Directing, Film and Television Multimedia Technology, Broadcasting and Hosting Art, Network Marketing and Live-streaming E-commerce, and Photography and Cinematography Technology. It has a team of over 60 full-time and part-time faculty members, all of whom are "dual-qualified" instructors. The school is home to five distinguished professor studios, one scientific innovation center and three industry-integrated colleges. It boasts superior teaching, experimental and research facilities, including large-scale comprehensive broadcast studios, photography studios, digital recording studios, performance halls, dubbing booths, live streaming rooms and creative editing centers, as well as Yixin Garden, an outdoor microfilm shooting base. In total, there are more than 30 on-campus practical training bases on site. Additionally, the school has jointly built off-campus internship bases with ten renowned enterprises such as Wuxi Radio and Television Station and Hualaiwu Film and Television City, providing students with high-end platforms to hone their professional skills.

Adhering to the college’s educational philosophy of "Quality + Capability", the school highlights the integration of art and technology, theory and practice, and inheritance and innovation. It prioritizes teaching quality and focuses on fostering students’ innovative thinking, practical capabilities and teamwork spirit, striving to cultivate media professionals with a solid theoretical foundation and excellent professional competence. The employment rate of its graduates has remained consistently above 97%. In the past five years, students have won more than 80 awards at or above the provincial level, and faculty members have earned 30 such honors.
